What is the Pregnancy Resource Tax Credit?

The Pregnancy Resource Tax Credit, enacted through the Kansas Pregnancy Resource Act, is designed to encourage support for eligible charitable organizations that provide critical resources to women facing unplanned pregnancies. By donating to Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas, you can:

  • Help women carry their pregnancies to term.
  • Support parenting and adoption services.
  • Promote healthy childbirth and family stability.
  • Receive a substantial tax benefit in return.

How Does It Work?

For every dollar you donate, you receive a 70% credit toward your Kansas state tax liability. For example:

  • A $1,000 donation earns a $700 tax credit.
  • A $10,000 donation earns a $7,000 tax credit.

Additionally:

  • If your contribution exceeds your tax liability for the year, you can carry over the unused credit for up to five years.
  • Contributions can be made via cash, check, or credit card.
